Irving Berlin [Irving Berlin]
(1888–1989) a US writer of popular songs, born in Russia. Although he had little technical skill, he wrote over 100 songs. Many of his greatest successes, like White Christmas (1942), were written for ↑Hollywood films. He also wrote ↑God Bless America (1918).
